The Poet Speaks - 4 Readers, 4 Books, 4 Times a year
Saturday, October 17 in the Loveland Library’s Gertrude Scott Room.

The return of quarterly readings with a few twists! We have been missing them and hear that you have too: those weekend afternoon readings by NOCO (and beyond) poets—several handpicked and a dozen or so through an open mic segment. Well, we are bringing them back, shooting for 4 times a year, each featuring 4 poets each reading from their most recently published books.
The featured readers will be followed by an open mic: readers can sign up just before the event and will have up to 3 minutes each to read.
In the last 30 minutes of the afternoon, the featured readers will have their books for sale and attendees are welcome to socialize.

Veronic Patterson (reading from Glint and Swerve)
Veronica Patterson holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Warren Wilson College. She is also a graduate of Cornell University, the University of Michigan, and the University of Northern Colorado. She was named Loveland’s first Poet Laureate on May 19, 2019 and has published a number of poetry collections; the latest is Glint and Swerve from Kelsay Books. She is also a teacher, mentor, editor and writing coach.

John Calderazzo (reading from In the Soup)
John Calderazzo taught creative nonfiction at CSU for 30 years. His five books include Rising Fire: Volcanoes & Our Inner Lives and two recent poetry collections. His poems and essays have appeared in Audubon, Orion, Georgia Review, Terrain, Witness, Best American Nature Writing and Poems for the Planet (Copper Canyon). He will be reading from his book of poetry In the Soup.

Living/working globally gifted her music of lives lived differently. Claiming woman, mother, writer, poet, thinker, animal, human, lover, good, bad, all, now, here, there—she’s not done. She will be reading from her debut book Paths Not Paved.

Beth Lechleitner (reading from Bear Days)
E.A. Lechleitner (Beth) Split her career between high tech marketing education. Now retired from both, she is currently keeping happily busy and honored as Loveland’s 3rd Poet Laureate. She has been playing with poetry since her pre-teen years and has published two books: Catchments and, most recently, Bear Days from which she will read.
